ALS has impacted me by taking my Uncle away from his family way too soon. I watched him lose his ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually to communicate at all. ALS has taught me a lot about life and how much we take for granted.
I chose to be a founding member of Operation Sunflower because I have been hoping, praying, raising money, and volunteering for a treatment and a cure for years. I hope to make an impact on this disease and the patients.
With this recurring gift, I hope to give HOPE to ALS patients, caregivers, and families affected by this disease because my gift will help with research, care services and so much more for the patients.

ALS has impacted me by stealing from each individual and family member I have encountered during my time at The ALS Association. I have witnessed the devasting impacts of the disease, but also the outstanding hope of our ALS Community. It is with this hope that we carry on the fight until we end this disease for good.

Jacki Roman – Former Caregiver, Walk to Defeat ALS Walker
ALS impacted me when my husband, Dave, was diagnosed in 2015 after a lengthy diagnosis process, and passed away in 2016.
I chose to be a founding member of Operation Sunflower because programs provided by the ALS Association--like the support groups, caregiver education bootcamp, and equipment lending program -- help families facing the nonstop challenges of ALS. I want to help those fighting ALS today and let them know they're not alone.
With this recurring gift, I hope to see an end to ALS ASAP.
