In 2019, we swore that NYC would be our last marathon. That lasted less than a day after we crossed the finish line. So Terri and I signed up to do Chicago and set personal goals to raise money and run for a charity. In 2019, my father passed away from pulmonary fibrosis. They did not have a team for that, so I decided to run for ALS, the disease that killed Dan's father. Then the marathon got canceled due to covid. Then I got a divorce.
So here I am, vaccinated, and the world is reopening. Time to get out my running shoes and get back to life.
I'm participating in Team Challenge ALS to raise funds and awareness to help fight back against this terrible disease. The ALS Association provides much needed patient services resources, funds global, cutting edge research, and much more in order to help those living with ALS right in our community.
While my reasons for chosing ALS are a bit complicated now, it is a hideous disease. For those who are affected, either directly or as a loved one, is important to me to try to make their lives a bit more easy. I'm asking for your help. Please make a donation or send your encouragement. I appreciate it all! XOXO Katie
