Running and helping others are two things very dear to my heart. This October, I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do both as I run in the 2021 Chicago Marathon for Team Challenge ALS.
ALS or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks cells in the brain and spinal cord needed to keep muscles moving. Unfortunately, there is no known cure and most live only 2-5 years after experiencing their first symptoms of ALS. But with your help, we can work to change this.
I am running for Team Challenge ALS to raise funds and awareness to help fight back against this terrible disease. The ALS Association provides much needed patient services, resources, cutting edge research, and more in order to help not only those living with ALS, but their families and caregivers as well.
I have witnessed both friends and family members lose loved ones to this disease. Challenging ALS is extremely important to me, and with your help, we can fight back against this disease. Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal. Every little bit counts, and your support is greatly appreciated!
