Lou Gehrig Day

Would you like to play a role in this year's Lou Gehrig Day with one of our local teams? If you'd like to attend, volunteer, or have ideas you'd like to help make a reality on game day: Fill out our survey here!

On the official Lou Gehrig Day, Friday, June 2nd, the Chicago Cubs will be playing an away game against the San Diego Padres at 8:40 pm.

Later in June, join the Cubs for their own special Lou Gehrig Day celebration at Wrigley Field! On Thursday, June 15th, the Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:05 PM. Local ALS organizations from across Chicagoland will come together for a day of ALS Awareness in Wrigleyville.

If you are planning on attending the June 15th game with The ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter, please fill out our brief survey here!

Meeting Space

The Cubs organization will be providing us a table for ALS Awareness at Gallagher Way. Stop by to say hello on your way into the game -- pick up some goodies, and maybe even win a prize!

We're also working on a small get-together opportunity pre-game as we were able to do last year. Plans are still in the works, so if you'd like to attend or volunteer, please fill out our survey here to stay in the loop.

Raffle

Cubs Charities 50/50 proceeds will be split among the six partner charities from that evening’s pot. Tickets can be purchased at the game or online, so feel free to share with your friends and family: cubs5050.com.

Marquee Sports Network

MSN will be capturing stories and information about local ALS organizations to be shared during the broadcast and on their digital platforms. Keep an eye out on game day for familiar faces! If you'd like to share your ALS journey, please fill out our survey today.

7th Inning Stretch

The Cubs are inviting ALS fighters and their families to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. Please send your videos (filmed in landscape orientation) to sarah@alsachicago.org by 6/1. Please be sure to perform the entire song in the video. The video turned out great last year and we hope you will send us some footage so we can highlight ALS fighters!

Game Day Photos

Whether you’ll be watching at a stadium or from home, please join us in celebrating your favorite team and spreading crucial awareness about the disease. We would love to see how all of you are going to celebrate this day as it generates much needed ALS awareness around the country.

If you’d like to share your photos dressed in your favorite team gear, enjoying a baseball-themed snack, or honoring Lou Gehrig in your own special way, please email your photos to samantha@alsachicago.org and/or tag us in your social media posts - @alsachicago.
